Couple’s Vision:
The couple dreamed of a destination wedding that felt both exquisite and deeply emotional — a weekend full of true connection, beautiful settings, and unforgettable moments. Their vision was clear: breathtaking views, exceptional food and wine, and a celebration that brought together family and friends in an atmosphere of love, ease, and authenticity. They wanted the day to feel heartfelt, not overly posed — refined, yet completely real.

My Approach:
With any destination wedding, logistics play a key role — and my goal was to create a seamless experience where everything felt effortless for the guests and the couple. I coordinated two beautiful hotels along the promenade in Ascona and ensured that each guest was welcomed with a curated in-room gift that set the tone for the weekend.

The celebration began Friday evening with a lakeside welcome reception at Pelago Seven — light food, flowing drinks, and a relaxed summer vibe right on the waterfront. As it happened, the Ascona Jazz Festival was taking place that same weekend, so guests were treated to the sounds of live jazz drifting in from the promenade — an unexpected and perfectly fitting backdrop that set the mood for a celebratory weekend.

On Saturday, guests were brought by private ferry to the Brissago Islands — a moment that already felt magical in itself. The ceremony took place in a quiet part of the island’s botanical gardens, overlooking the lake. It was a sun-drenched setting with summery florals, live music, and friends officiating the ceremony — all adding to the emotional depth of the moment. The couple’s dog played ring bearer, and personal touches like palm leaf fans and tissues for “happy tears” made everything feel considered and warm.

After the ceremony, an open-air aperitif included an Aperol Spritz tower in the couple’s color palette, followed by a fully vegetarian/vegan dinner at Villa Emden, just as the couple had envisioned.

Because the wedding took place on an island, I managed multiple layers of vendor coordination, transportation, and contingency — all in a way that the couple and their guests never had to notice. From custom stationery and illustrated place cards to the thoughtful flow of the day, every detail was designed with intention.

I also worked closely with the photographer to match the couple’s wish for natural, unposed images. The result was a wedding that looked and felt beautifully true to them.

Memorable Moments:

  • The private ferry ride set the tone for the day — a destination experience from the start

  • The dog as ring bearer brought emotion and joy to the ceremony

  • Personalized stationery, hand-drawn by the bride and designed by Lumé, tied every visual element together

  • The Aperol tower and relaxed aperitif captured the summer atmosphere perfectly

  • Tables named after the couple’s travel destinations added an extra personal touch

Outcome:
The entire weekend unfolded flawlessly. Guests repeatedly shared how emotional and unique the experience felt — many called it the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. The couple was fully present and relaxed, knowing every detail was under control.

In the bride’s words (as echoed by her makeup artist): she wasn’t nervous at all — because she knew everything was being handled with care.
